Two administrators join District 2

Lorenzo Nevarez brings experience as an assistant principal at an ethnically diverse middle school to his new position as English Language Coordinator. Mr. Nevarez replaces David Rojas, who was named co-principal of Tioga School.

Mr. Nevarez began his teaching career in 1996 as a Spanish and bilingual teacher in Cook County School District 130 in Alsip. He holds a master’s degree in educational administration and his administrator certificate. District 130 has demographics similar to Bensenville. He lived in Mexico and is fluent in Spanish.

As ELL coordinator Mr. Nevarez will oversee the English as a Second Language program, bilingual education and transitional education for Limited English students.

New Asst. Principal Appointed

Tarah Fowler, and educator from Missouri, has been appointed to the 10-month Assistant Principal position at Blackhawk Middle School.

Mrs. Fowler has three years experience as an assistant principal at Holman Middle School in St. Ann, Mo., in which she served a diverse population of students. She received a master’s degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.

Mrs. Fowler replaces Sarah Humboldt, who was named Associate Principal at Blackhawk Middle School.
