The United against Bullying Club at Blackhawk Middle School
This a support group for anyone in the school community who is interested in participating. Their mission is to create awareness, embrace diversity, and assist in the prevention of all forms of bullying. They try to prevent bullying before it happens, and encourage others to spread kindness. The club tries to keep all kids and teachers at Blackhawk who aren’t in the organization aware of types of bullying that happens around us and how to stop it. Blackhawk Middle School offers the following activities and clubs for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students:

The Green Teen Zone
The Green Teen Zone is a FREE drop –in center for Bensenville Middle School children (grades 6-8). They offer daily homework help and provide a fun place for students to hang out with  friends. They serve a FREE snack and supper! The Teen Center is open Monday-Friday 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. except on Thursday when it is open at 2 p.m. The Green Teen Zone  website has more information. The Bensenville Park District (BPD) After School Club
BPD After School Club  is a fun-filled program for children in Kindergarten through 5th grades. The program meets daily Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 3:30-6:00 p.m. and Thursday 2:30-6 p.m. Your child can be part of a fun, relaxed, recreational environment at the Deer Grove Leisure Center every weekday afternoon. They also provide activities during the summer, such as: Soccer, Baseball, Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Swimming Camp.

YMCA Summer Camp
the perfect place for children to relax and enjoy themselves while being cared for in a safe and fun environment. The camp allows time for individual choice and group play as well as adult-directed and child-directed activities. The Camp provided opportunities to meet new friends. Children learn to respect each other differences, recognize their similarities and celebrate how special each of us is! The children will work on building confidence, discipline, respect leadership, unity and responsibilities.

The Bensenville Police Department
The Bensenville Police Department and Crime Prevention Coordinator, Joel Vargas promotes prevention programs for the community and Bensenville School District 2.

They promote activities such as soccer leagues, cleaning parks events, and National Night Out events. This program requires involvement from parents, students, educators, school administrators, and the Police Department. They also present the Anti-Bullying Campaign” which is a 15 minute program delivered in the classroom. The program focuses on three points:
  1.  What is bullying?
  2.  Where does it take place?
  3.  What do you do when you see it?

The DuPage County Health Department
Behavioral health programs provide a range of services for DuPage County residents experiencing symptoms of mental health or emotional disorders. Northeast DuPage Family & Youth Services
Northeast DuPage Family & Youth Services is a community-based service agency located at the Addison Police Department. They offer free services to the residents of Addison, Bensenville, and Itasca. For more information about any of the following programs, call (630) 693-7934 or e-mail .
