We have 1 remaining position available for the 2010-2011 PTO Board.  We are also looking for chairpeople for the following committees: Volunteer Coordinator, Fundraising, Dance Concessions, Market Day. Benefits
There are many benefits of being involved in the Blackhawk PTO. You become aware and involved in your child’s life; sometimes without them even being aware of it. Your opinions are heard through our monthly meetings. Good changes can be put into affect because of your input. Your children are happy that you’re involved in their school. Studies show that students that have involved parents do better in school.

Membership
Every parent/guardian of a Blackhawk student is automatically a member of the PTO. No dues required.

Please support the Blackhawk PTO by becoming a volunteer. Together we can make a difference. To sign up, e-mail the PTO with your name, home phone #, cell phone #, preferred method of contact (home phone, cell phone, e-mail), and best time to call (morning, afternoon, evening).

Market Day
We need volunteers between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the date of pick-up. Meet in the Johnson School gymnasium. No experience is required. We also need a few people to make reminder calls from home.

To everyone that generously donates their time, thanks! We cannot make it all possible without you.

The following activities would not be possible without fundraising: 8th grade carnival & promotion gifts; Hawks activities; Mega Fun Day (in May); recognition breakfasts; Parent University speakers; author visits; and Student Council. Also, each team receives an annual budget to spend on our children. Please support the PTO in the following fundraisers. Cash donations are optional, but always welcome.


Market Day
The next Market Day sale is Thursday Sept. 16,  at Johnson School between 3:30 and 4:30 pm. Blackhawk PTO receives a check each month from Market Day for 10% of sales. Orders are due to Blackhawk by Thursday, Sept. 9, or submit your order online by 11 pm on Monday, Sept. 13. Go to marketday.com to place your order online.

If you shop at the Market Day store in Wood Dale, we make a 5% profit instead of 10% from the school sale.

eScrip
Sign up for eScrip and a percentage of your purchases will be donated to Blackhawk. Go to escrip.com to sign up online or print & fill out the paper form and return to school.
