Bensenville School District 2 will move to standards-based reporting beginning with the 2016-17 school year
Bensenville School District 2 is pleased to announce the movement to a standards-based report card in Grades K-8, beginning in the 2016-17 school year. This year, the district has been researching and field testing. The change comes from an analysis of our existing report card and discovery that it did not fully align with current standards or research. This new report card is an exciting step for our schools, as we work towards ensuring that all students are successfully meeting grade-level standards; it is going to be helpful in multiple ways. First, it will ensure that there is more consistency among expectations from teacher to teacher and from grade to grade. Second, it will allow students to be more aware of what is expected of them to work in partnership with their teachers. Finally, parents/guardians will learn what is expected of their child and how well he or she is progressing towards the standards along the way.
