Parent / Guardian Information

In-School Service
The District provides Special Education instruction and related services based on individual needs. A student’s IEP team may recommend that a student receive services in a program outside of the District when a student’s needs cannot be met in the existing school program.

Home & Hospital Tutoring
A student unable to attend school because of a temporary, chronic, or long-term medical disability may be eligible to receive home / hospital tutoring. Call your student’s school principal for information.

The District follows set procedures for the identification, evaluation, and placement of special education students per Federal and State regulations.

Copies of regulations / documents are available to parents upon request from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

Additional Information
The Illinois State Board of Education Special Education and Support Services offers information for parents on topics including early childhood special education, Project CHOICES, parent training, and links to the document "A Parent's Guide - The Educational Rights of Students with Disabilities" in English and Spanish.
