BLACK LIGHT

                 BY STEPHEN HUNTER

ONE REASON CRITICS MIGHT RAVE ABOUT THIS BOOK IS BECAUSE OF its GRIPPING TENSION, THAT NEVER LETS YOU GET BORED. BLACK LIGHT IS ABOUT A MAN AND HIS WILL TO KILL. HE HAS THE HIGHEST RECORD A SNIPER CAN GET, AND WHEN DUTY CALLS, HE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THERE. STEPHEN HUNTER HAS WRITTEN PREVIOUS NOVELS BUT NONE HAVE EVER COMPARED TO

BLACK LIGHT

THE MAN WITH NOTHING TO LOSE HAS FOUGHT IN THE VIETNAM WAR. THERE WAS WHERE HE EARNED HIS “REP”. HE GETS CALLED BACK AFTER A LARGE AMOUNT OF YEARS HAVE PASSED, AND HE ISN’T IN AS GREAT A SHAPE AS BEFORE, BUT NOTHING IS GOING TO STOP HIM FROM DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST, KILLING JUSTFULLY

I LOVE THIS BOOK FOR MANY REASONS; ONE BEING THAT IT IS JUST ACTION PACKED.YOU REALLY GETS TO KNOW THE CHARACTERS, THEIR LIVES, AND THEIR PERSONALITIES. I MEAN STEPHEN HUNTER KNOWS WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO READ, I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO LOVES ACTION.

“A NOVEL THAT WILL KEEP YOU TURNING PAGES LONG AFTER YOU SHOULD HAVE TURNED OUT THE LIGHT!”-MILWAUKEE SENTENIEL

“HUNTER GETS TWO THUMBS UP! ONE OF THE BEST NOVEL OF ALL TIME”-KAGAN ORTIZ

Gym Candy Book Review

Mick Johnson has always wanted to be a professional football player. His dad was a former one and he wants to follow in his footsteps, but little did he know why his dad wasn’t a big time running back in the NFL. He was a drunk and he skipped practices.
Mick Johnson is someone who perseveres at football. To him, it is his life and that is the only big thing he has going for him, so he doesn’t want to mess it up. He doesn’t stop when he isn’t first string on the football team either. Like I said Mick perseveres. He starts working out and learns about steroids from his personal trainer, and that is when Mick makes the biggest mistake of his life.

The plot in this story is so realistic, not just in high school, but in all sports, in every age group. Carl Deuker’s writing is impressive and it keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole story. In this great book, you learn about friendship, trust, and the temptations that athletes deal with in sports. Carl Deuker is a famous sports author and he has succeeded again in writing another tremendous book. Of all the books I have ever read, this is the absolute best. It gets a 5 out 5 stars. If you love football, then this is the book for you.

Boy Toy

Barry Lyga

Reviewed by Jocelyn H.

In the book Boy Toy, Josh has an obsession with one of his elementary school teachers. This obsession affects his friendships and relationships. This book was a really enjoyable book to read. When I was reading it, I didn't want to stop. Everything was so suspenseful and fun to read. Maybe one of the reasons why I liked it so much was because the writing style was connectable.
For example, the language was something some teens could understand and relate to. Also it felt as if Josh, the main character, was right next to you, telling you his story. This book is mostly recommended to teens who are mature. This is because it does deal with intimate situations.

One scene that has always been memorable to be is when Josh and Eve are in court. Josh turns to look at Eve, and all she does is smile at him and give him a wink. This is kind of a moment where you would think the judge would instantly send her to jail. The truth is no one even saw this except the lawyers. This one scene made my jaw drop.
Overall this book was very breathtaking. It is worth the whole 300 and some pages. I recommend this book to many teens. With the first page, you'll be hooked. With his one obsession, you'll be shocked.
