Mohawk School
Overview
Mohawk School serves approximately 300 kindergarten through 5th grade students who live within District 2, north of Irving Park Road. Mohawk School is operating as a school within a school at the newly renovated W.A. Johnson School through the 2012-13 school year.

Mohawk Receives State Recognition

Congratulations to Mohawk School students, staff and parents!
State Superintendent of Schools Christopher Koch, left, recognized Mohawk School as an Illinois Spotlight School in a ceremony at F.E. Peacock Middle School in Itasca Monday April 21. Mohawk was one of 19 schools from eight districts in northeast DuPage County recognized in the 2012 Illinois School Honor Roll Ceremony today.
Mohawk received the spotlight school designation for high student achievement in a high-poverty school. This is Mohawk’s fifth Spotlight Award.

 National Blue Ribbon School
Mohawk School is a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School. The U.S. Department of Education recognized Mohawk School for high student achievement and closing the achievement gap for disadvantaged students.
In 2011, just 3.4 percentage points separated all socio and economic student groups in math, with 89.3 percent of the low-income students meeting or exceeding standards to 92.7 percent overall. In reading 7.4 points separate all socio/economic groups, from 74.7 for low-income group to 82.3 overall. Read on
