W. A. Johnson School

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL from all of us at W.A. Johnson School!
We are very busy gearing up for the second half of the school year.  We have important things coming up, such as free dental screenings,  ACCESS and PARCC testing.  Watch this page for more details.

    COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPALS
Please join us on Monday, January 22 at 9:00 a.m. for our next Coffee with the Principals in the Johnson School Cafeteria.

    PARENT SURVEY WINDOW IS OPEN
The 5 Essentials Survey for Parents is open!  You may take the survey online, (see link below) or take it when you come to school for an event.  Chomebooks will be set up at all school events so that you can take the survey when you are at school.  All parents who take the survey will be given a chance to enter a raffle to win a $50.00 Target Gift Card.  Click HERE for the survey.

    IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT ILLNESS
Attendance is important and we do take it seriously.  However, when your child is ill, it is best to keep him/her home.  With colds, flu and stomach viruses being easily spread in a classroom setting, we ask you to follow these guidelines:
Fever:  Keep your child home if he/she has a fever.  Please be sure your child is fever-free for 24 hours, without the aid of a fever-reducing medication-before coming back to school.
Vomiting:  please be sure your child has not vomited for 24 hours before returning to school.
Hand Washing:  A little hand washing goes a long way in reducing the spread of illness.  Please encourage your child to wash their hands each time they use the washroom, as well as before eating, if possible.
These guidelines will help to keep illness from spreading.  Thank you for your cooperation.

TUESDAY IS EARLY DISMISSAL DAY - Students are dismissed at 2:25 p.m. every Tuesday.

    FRIDAY FOLDERS
Please check your child's backpack for his/her Friday Folder!  You will find important flyers and notices from school.  Please sign the page at the back of the Friday Folder to show you received the papers from school, and send the Friday Folder back to school with your child on Monday or the first day of the week. Thank you for your help!

PLANNING TO HELP OUT IN THE CLASSROOM OR GO ON A FIELD TRIP WITH YOUR CHILD'S CLASS?
This is a reminder that all parents must fill out a new Volunteer Form every year in order to help out at school. Stop by the office with your photo ID and fill out the form. Thank you!
