JOHNSON STUDENTS KICK OFF HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORT
Students at Johnson School are sponsoring a fundraiser to help fellow students in Texas and Florida affected by the recent hurricanes, Harvey and Irma.

Beginning Monday, September 18, and running through October 24, students can bring change or cash to donate to this cause. Each classroom has been supplied with a collection bucket.  In order to make it more fun and to raise as much money as possible, we have turned it into a competition!  Students in grades kindergarten, 2 and 4 (Team Hurricane Irma) will raise money for those affected in Florida, and students in grades 1, 2 and 5 (Team Hurricane Harvey) will raise money for those affected in Texas.  In the end, the money will be split evenly between both causes....but shhh!

Ms. Pyne, one of our 5th grade teachers, has put up a visual in the Innovation Lab so students can track their progress. Houses will be "rebuilt" on the wall of the Innovation Lab.  The team that rebuilds their house first will be the winner.

Other fun fundraising events will take place during this time, such as Hat Day and Inside Out Day - watch your child's Friday Folder for details.

TUESDAY IS EARLY DISMISSAL DAY - Students are dismissed at 2:25 p.m. every Tuesday.

    MC TEACHER NIGHT
Our recent McTeacher Night at the Bensenville McDonald's was a huge success.  McDonald's was packed with Johnson Families and friends the entire time of the event!  Students, teachers and administrators alike had a wonderful time, and we raised an incredible $676.46 to benefit our school.  Thank you very much to the Bensenville McDonald's and our fantastic PTA for hosting this event.

    FRIDAY FOLDERS
Please check your child's backpack for his/her Friday Folder!  You will find important flyers and notices from school.  Please sign the page at the back of the Friday Folder to show you received the papers from school, and send the Friday Folder back to school with your child on Monday or the first day of the week. Thank you for your help!

PLANNING TO HELP OUT IN THE CLASSROOM OR GO ON A FIELD TRIP WITH YOUR CHILD'S CLASS?
This is a reminder that all parents must fill out a new Volunteer Form every year in order to help out at school. Stop by the office with your photo ID and fill out the form. Thank you!
