5ESSENTIALS SURVEY
Tioga Families: Your voice matters! Complete the 5Essentials Survey to share your feedback and help win a pizza party for your child's classroom!All you need to do is complete the 5Essentials Survey online by Friday, February 14. After completing the survey, notify the Tioga School office, email your child's teacher, or print the "Thank You" page and return it with your child's name and teacher for a chance to win.A pizza party will be awarded to the classroom at each grade level with the most parent surveys.A pizza party will also be awarded to all classrooms with 100 percent participation.

The SIT Conference is a technology conference unlike any other: hosted by kids, for kids. Students in Grades 3-12 enjoy hands-on activities and present to their peers on the latest in STEAM topics.

Metropolitan Family Services offering 'Parenting Fundamentals' classes
Parents are children's first teachers and role models. That is why Metropolitan Family Services is offering a series of classes titled "Parenting Fundamentals: Parent Empowerment for Family success."

District 2 offers free, on-site dental sealant program for Johnson and Tioga students
All students at Tioga and W.A. Johnson Schools qualify for a dental exam should they choose to apply for the program. Additionally, the program provides applicants who qualify for financial assistance with free dental cleaning, sealants, and fluoride treatment, as well as off-site restorative care if necessary.

College of DuPage offers free local English and citizenship classes this winter
Evening classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays at Fenton High School, and morning classes will be held Tuesdays, and Thursdays at Bensenville Community Public Library.

The Illinois State Board of Education annually releases school report cards that show how each school, each district, and the state is performing on a wide range of educational goals.

Bensenville School District 2 has begun administering the Illinois 5Essentials Survey to teachers, students, and parents. This survey provides students, teachers, and parents a voice in our ongoing efforts to improve our schools. But it is also an opportunity to tell us what you love about your child’s school!

THE DOOR'S OPEN: New BSD2 Community Center connects BSD2 families with vital community supports.
The Community Center serves as a resource hub where families can access supports in the areas of mental and physical health, school enrollment, and parent skill development.

District 2 Board of Education approves 2019-2020 budget
The budget authorizes about $37.7 million of spending, paid for with about $39 million in revenue. The projected surplus is about $1.3 million.

Food for Families returns for the 2019-20 school year
Does your family need food? Bensenville School District 2, in partnership with Fenton High School, Wood Dale School District 7, the Bensenville/Wood Dale Food Pantry, and Northern Illinois Food Bank, will continue to offer perishable and non-perishable food to families from 4-6 p.m. on the following dates this school year.

FULL SERVICE: More great grant news for District 2
In September, Bensenville School District 2 received the U.S. Department of Education’s Full Service Community Grant for $2.5 million. The District is one of just 15 schools nationwide selected to receive this grant.

‘Rise & Shine' with our new RISE Academies
New RISE Academies are coming to BSD2 schools in October, and their launch presents exciting opportunities for three special members of the our school communities to “rise and shine” as our schools' RISE Academy Site Coordinators.
