Dr. Katie McCluskey, Superintendent of Schools
Welcome to Bensenville School District 2!
Dr. Katie McCluskey is proud to serve as Superintendent of Schools for Bensenville School District 2. Since joining the District in 2022, she has been committed to creating welcoming, engaging, and supportive learning environments where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Throughout her career, Dr. McCluskey has been passionate about expanding opportunities for students and families. Her experience includes leadership in teaching and learning, dual language and bilingual education, early childhood programming, and community partnerships. She believes strong schools are built through meaningful relationships among students, families, staff, and the community.
Before joining District 2, Dr. McCluskey served in several educational leadership roles, including Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Accountability for Glen Ellyn School District 41. She began her career as an ESL/bilingual teacher and has continued to champion programs that support students from their earliest years through their educational journey.
Dr. McCluskey holds a doctorate in educational leadership and administration from Aurora University, a master’s degree in education leadership from Governors State University, and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a K–12 ESL endorsement from Arizona State University. She is also the co-author of Game Plan: A Playbook for Developing Winning PLCs at Work, which focuses on building collaborative school communities centered on student success.
Beyond her professional work, Dr. McCluskey values family, service, and giving back to the community. She and her family enjoy volunteering together and supporting organizations that make a difference for children and families.
Above all, Dr. McCluskey believes that educating children is a partnership. She is grateful to work alongside BSD2 families, staff, and community members to create schools where students feel welcomed, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

As we begin another exciting year together, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of our returning families and those joining the BSD2 community for the first time. We are excited to open our doors and begin a year filled with learning, growth, and opportunity.
As we wrap up another remarkable school year, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make it a success—our incredible students, their supportive families, our dedicated teachers and staff, our tireless administrators, and our incredible BSD2 community.
As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to take this opportunity to remind you that our teachers are AWESOME!
