I am excited to begin the 2020-2021 year at W.A. Johnson, and look forward to working with our students, staff, parents, and community members. I decided to become an educator because I love helping students learn. I have ten years of classroom experience where I taught many different grade levels in elementary, middle, and high school before becoming a school administrator. As an administrator, I was drawn to Bensenville because of the rich culture, diversity, and commitment to excellence. Serving as the principal at WA Johnson is a great honor, as it is a responsibility. I believe that our commitment to work together is key to fulfilling our mission of children achieving their highest potential. I am honored to serve this community, and will work hard to gain your trust and respect as WA Johnson’s co-principal. I look forward to working with everyone in our school. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

PassionI am so incredibly excited and grateful to be serving the W.A. Johnson learning community as Assistant Principal. It is truly a privilege to be an educator and I cannot imagine being in a more rewarding profession. As an educator and school leader, I believe it is crucial to build strong relationships to know how best to serve and support all students, their families, teachers, and community members. With strong relationships in place, together we can move forward in the great work already started at W.A. Johnson, fostering a learning community where students feel safe, where each child’s unique background and life experiences are honored, where there are high academic and behavior expectations for all students, where students are at the center of learning, where students have their social-emotional needs met, and where there are strong connections with families and the community. In this environment, children can feel secure in taking risks in their learning and gain the understanding that in every mistake their knowledge is growing and they are one step closer to success. For every child, my belief is that we must be diligent in igniting their natural curiosity, in developing a life-long love of learning, and in cultivating resilience so that they can persist and persevere through any situation they should encounter in their lives, in or out of school.
