Welcome to Bensenville School District 2

  • Welcome to Bensenville School District 2, where our mission is to “Maximize the unique potential of each child by honoring a natural curiosity and igniting a desire to learn.”

Our Board of Education, administrators, teachers, and support staff strive to deliver a high-quality education to each of our more than 2,350 students, and to prepare them for a world of opportunity as college and career-ready citizens with 21st century skills. That effort begins in our new early learning center, where more than 150 students ages birth to 5 participate in our state and federally funded Preschool for All, Head Start, and Early Head Start programs. It then transitions to all-day kindergarten in our two elementary sites -- Tioga School and W.A. Johnson School -- and concludes at Blackhawk Middle School with the promotion of our eighth graders to Fenton High School.

As a leader in education in the state, we offer a consistent continuous-progress curriculum based on the rigorous Illinois Learning Standards. That curriculum is developed in District by our talented teaching staff, which takes great pride in providing innovative instruction that engages our students’ different learning styles and meets their unique academic, social, and emotional needs. Our beautiful, newly renovated schools offer safe, state-of-the-art learning environments that enhance our everyday teaching and learning, and our community schools program offers expanded support services to help our diverse population of students and families succeed at home and in the classroom.

Parent involvement is key to our success, and we offer a variety of communication tools to help you stay informed and get involved. Our website, www.bsd2.org, is a great resource for information about the District. To receive the latest news from District 2, follow our Twitter feed or “like” our Facebook page, both of which are accessible from our website’s homepage. Parents also receive flyers, newsletters, and '2Talk" notifications from the District and their child's school at the email address they provide at registration, an our phone notification system uses the phone number they provided at registration to contact them with emergency messages and general notifications. In addition to these communication offerings, we also encourage parents to contact their school's principals with any questions they may have, and to establish an open relationship with their child’s teacher.

We hope your enjoy your educational experience in Bensenville School District 2, and we look forward to getting to know you and your child this year.
