NEW LEADER: Dr. Katie McCluskey joins District 2 as its new superintendent

The BSD2 Board of Education unanimously voted to name Dr. Katie McCluskey the District’s new Superintendent of Schools during its regular business meeting on December 15.
Dr. McCluskey served as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Accountability for Glen Ellyn District 41 since July 2017. She began her work in District 2 on July 1, 2022.
“I am honored to have been selected as District’s 2’s superintendent,” said Dr. McCluskey. “I am truly looking forward to working alongside the District 2 Board, staff, and families to make the dreams for their students come true. I look forward to meeting all of you in the very near future.”

I hope summer break will provide everyone an opportunity to enjoy some fun in the sun with family and friends. I hope we can all return in August, rested, recharged, and ready for another great year of “Learning & Growing Together.”

FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT: Introducing Right At School, our new elementary after-school program provider
We are excited to announce that the nationally recognized after school student enrichment program provider Right at School is coming to District 2! Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, Right At School will run the district’s after school programming for Johnson and Tioga schools.

Every year, Teacher Appreciation week falls at the beginning of May – a time when we are all encouraged to #thankateacher. As I approach the end of my first year as a superintendent, though, I’m compelled to thank our over 200 teachers and another 200-plus staff members for their combined contributions toward the education of the more than 2,000 students we serve here in District 2.
